I have had my rainbow shark for about 2 weeks now and he won't eat any flake food. All the other fish eat it up first. The rainbow looks good still and nibbles on rocks all the time. What's going on?

Same things is happening to my loach; all the other fish get all the food waaaay before him becuase he is very mellow and just dwells around and he eats the crap on the growing on the rocks. Lemme now if you find anything out.

Hey, no reason to resort to name-calling...

Don't worry about your Rainbow Sharks, they've been known to eat algae and clean up particles of food off of rocks/wood/etc. before.

I've had mine for two years and I've seen him actually EAT a flake of food twice. Those are the only two times I have EVER seen him eat. Try feeding pellets as fish1 recommended, and try varying his diet a little bit. Throwing in a frozen cube of brine shrimp or bloodworms from time to time might be a nice treat for him too. As long as he remains healthy looking, I wouldn't worry too much...

He'll probably also like to hide a lot too. Again, don't worry, they're territorial and enjoy caves so try to help him out with that...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

I feed my RTS and Rainbow flake food, frozen brine shrimp, and frozen bloodworms. Try one of those or keep varying what type of food you try to feed them until you find one they seem to like...
