Would it be possible to add a RTBS to this possible 90 gallon setup:

1 BGK
7 congo tetras
7 emperor tetras
2 BNs
3 Pearl gouramis
2 Dwarf Gouramis
2 Bolivian Rams
2 angelfish???<---not sure on these

Thanks for any help.

The shark will try to beat up on the gouramis... But in a 90g it might be alright... You just might end up with some reclusive gouramis.

kewl, I think it will be the last fish I buy for my 90 gallon(if I get one), so that it won't be disturbed and pester any new fish. The it will be like the gouramis' home so RTBS will be less inclined to attack them, I guess.

I had a RTBS and it tried to kill my dwarf gouramis. I have heard of this also happening to other people as well, RTBS just have a vendetta towards dwarf gouramis. I wouldnt mix the two.

fine, no DGs then... well maybe since my tank is so big, then maybe it will be all right? I guess I'll try it w/ one DG and if that works, get more.

I personally dont know, I got rid of my RTBS after he tried for 9 hours straight to kill the gouramis.
I would assume they would be ok as regular gouramis (like opalines, golds, pears) are much larger and tend to stay in the open water more often. Dwarfs are very hidey and shy and that might be what cheese the RTBS's off.

I've only had experience with RTS and dwarf gourami, but I would be hesitant about adding them with larger gourami too just because it seems to be a species thing...

Possibly try a rainbow shark instead of an RTS as they aren't AS aggressive in most cases (but don't assume they're GreenPeace members, they'll still swim around looking for some fishy-butt to kick)...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

Okay, thanks for the help. Are rainbows kept by themselves as well?

Yes, rainbow sharks are kept by themselves. They are not shoaling or schooling fish, and can get hostile towards each other and similar looking fish, such as the red tailed black shark. Rainbow sharks are pretty much loners, and don't need to see others of their kind.

I wouldnt do Rainbow sharks either. They are more aggressive than RTBS and I had the same problem with the Rainbow Shark I briefly had after I returned the RTBS. Tried to kill the dwarf gouramis.
Sorry I shouldve mentioned that before, but I just assumed people would know RTBS and Rainbow sharks are so similar in personality neither would be compatible with DG's.
