They can get large, 4-6 inches generally. But even more important than how big they get is the fact that they're very active fish. I personally wouldn't put them in anything smaller than a 30 gallon long. 55 or larger would be better.

nice picture, how big are those two?

ive got mine in a 63gal at the moment so that should be fine for them.

i just really like them but had never seen a 'fullsize' one

Hmm size...maybe around 3" @ 3years right now...honestly I'm not too sure since I've never been one to measure the fish, and I'm rather bad @guessing sizes ....I have a strong feeling those two were stunted in their early existance .

They're living in a 50 gallon stock tank (footprint of a 75) right now and loving the space :%)!.

easilly the most active fish ive ever had.

i will have to attempt to get some pictures sometime.

I've never been set up to breed, so I guess no, but I've seen them acting up plenty...they're sold in some stores as feeders aparently so they must do it often enough. At this point I only have the two pictured, they were actually my first tank fish.
