She added a "regular" Tiger Barb, and a "green" Tiger Barb. Now she tells me some of the other fish seem to have mild fin rot. Now I havent' seen the tank lately, but I'm wondering if the "fin rot" is actually fin nips. I going to see her tomorrow, and I am going to tell her that the tiger barbs should be kept in schools. But I have 2 questions: 1: Are they less nippy of other fish once in a school (I thought I read they were, but I'm not sure) 2: Will the regular, or green school with a school of the other type. thanks, -Dennis |

Probably not. I believe they're visual schoolers, so they have to look the same to school, even though they're both the same species. ><> |

I would definitly go for it because when you have more tigers they seem to pay more attention to the other tigers and to whose on the top of the school then what other fish are in the tank. |

Ive had a school of 14 mixed (green, albino, and regular) in a 90g and they all schooled regardless of color. Bdadawg |

IMO better NOT to mix them. ^_^ ![]() [link=Contest Rules]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Aquascaping/44382.html?200412022138" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] ![]() |
