Do tiger barbs dislike high light? I am planning on getting a 30" 2x65w fixture for my 29g. Would this amount of light be too much for the fish?

They don't seem to care about lighting too much. Just give them some areas where they can take shelter from the light if needed, and they'll be just fine. Floating plants, thick plant clumps, and rock overhangs all would work fine. I assume that you're going with a planted tank anyways, because of all the lighting.

Mine don't care about the lighting in the tank and they seem to act the same. Your light has a lot of wattage in it. On my 29 I only have 60watts and that does the trick.

Thanks for the input!

I have 93 watts right now with flourite substrate, root tabs, co2 injection, nitrate addition, and liquid fertilizer. I'm not getting the growth I want, so I am going to up the lights.

Rotala macrandra, polysperma 'tropic sunset', wisteria, many others
