No you should NOT get one or two of every kind of tiger because they will not school together.

Tigers are known for their nipping and aggression. Because fish school according to color and pattern the different color morphs (green ones are dyed though) will not school together. I've seen a regular nip a green...the end result was the green one's death

Pick the one you want....go with a larger sized school 6-10 the more of the same type of barb you have, the less the aggression against any one paticular one.

^_^

Green tiger barbs aren't necessarily dyed, but they are a color morph. The various morphs, such as albino, regular, and green, will not school together and can end up fighting and nipping each other...

I had a little trouble understanding all the specifics of your post, but I got that you have two cherry barbs currently and are going to be getting some cichlids (of some kind)...

Depending on the cichlids' home area (African or South American), you may have to alter your water conditions some to set up your water as they would like it. If you need to alter the conditions, they won't be too acceptable for just about any Cyprinids...

Also, most cichlids will get big enough to where they will eat your rosy barbs. Rosies stay small enough that they would make a quick snack for most cichlids...

Lastly, you need to research the cichlids you're gonna be putting in there. Not too many will fit in a 30 gallon tank, so I'd check and make sure that'll be enough room for them first...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.
