Very simple question here. How can you tell if they are pregnant?

White cloud mountain minnows don't actually get pregnant. Instead, they lay eggs. The only fish that do get pregnant are livebearers.

Females will be plump when laden with eggs, which can be often! White clouds are usually the easiest egg layer to breed; just remember, that other fish in the tank will consider fish eggs cavier, and so, give them privacy, or a lot of plants to help hide the eggs.

Generally if they are pretty fat they are holdin eggs. I refer to this as "pregnant" as well. Its pretty much the same difference anywho.
Babies result!!
Anyway so yeah Java Moss will help your clouds, also, if they are in a room with a window, raise the curtains or blinds at night so they can recieve some of the dawn sunlight, and try doing a water change the evening before with water a degree or two colder.
They should spawn for you easy enough.
If you have any other fish in your tank, they will likely eat the eggs and/or any fry that result. White Clouds however will not generally eat their own eggs or fry. Keep them well fed on a diet of bloodworms, frozen or freeze dried, and a good supplement like tropical flake or veggie flake, or brine shrimp flake.
Good Luck !

Not that I am a huge stickler for words, but here ya go: from webster.com

pregnant, adj. containing unborn young within the body

since the female has to expell the eggs for the male's milt to fertalize them, it is not entirely correct to say an egg-layer is pregnant. However,

gravid, adj. distended with or full of eggs

This is the word we are looking for.

Thanks cichlidmad that's what it was for sure then....She's not nearly as big any more....guess I just found it odd that she was always by herself and never around any of the ones that seemed to be males .
