but all the threads say not to have more than one together at home unless you have a HUGE tank.

Easy. A, there are lots of them; this makes it difficult or impossible to claim territory, especially in a fairly empty tank like LFS tanks generally are. It also makes it difficult or impossible for a single fish to be harassed much, because there's always another one getting in the way. The numbers factor is why it's quite possible to keep a large group of RTBS in a large tank. B, and perhaps more importantly, because they're juveniles.

dont forget they don't live at the lfs tanks. that is only a temp home, they dont have time to adjust and make part of the tank theres. sadly most may die, or get sold, so it isn't a real home. they will be moved alot.

Well, I agree with all that, but also, the LFS fishes out the dead fish, too, and takes a loss. While most lfs owners don't get attached to a fish, chances are, the people who take them home kinda feel bad when they die.
