Hey lol...i've been noticing for about a week now that one of my danios is quite fat...i don't know how to tell the difference between a guy and a girl...but i'm thinking that maybe its just constipated. Its still acting normal and healthy and chasing the other fish around like usual.

I've noticed that its fins (all of them) are a lot lighter then the other zebra's, you can't really see the strips on the fins like the other zebra's (who's stripes are very dark). Actually now that i think about it, all of its stripes seem to be lighter.

Is it constipation? Pregnancy? or something else? Let me know

I have one zebra that's much paler than the others, almost looks a tad bit pink. Constipation does happen sometimes, an important reason to only feed a small ammount. You can try feeding them a bit of pea. Grab one from the freezer, pop it from the outer shell, then mush it gently between your fingers and offer them to the fish. If they're anything like mine they'll play tug of war over the pieces .

As for male/female....it can be harder when they're younger. But males have a yellow stripe, females a white or silver one. Check the danios ^^up there .

^_^

I think i also have a constapated (if i spelled it right) Zebra. Will the big swelling belly go away. I also thought it was pregnat. Any suggestions beside not over feeding them (still trying to put the proper amount of food in there)......

Two females to the left, 2 males to the right. So what if these are glofish same principle applies

Females will keep a rather LARGE belly, males will not have it, and should not have it.

Babel is right. Females will have silvery coloration between the black lines, and males will have more of a yellow tint.

hmmm...i still don't know what i have lol...i think "he's" just constipated, the stomach seems a little bit smaller today. One of my danios goes from yellow and dark striped to very light all over...and then i have a yellow and dark striped and a light all over...so yeah lol i'm still confused but i guess if i see any fry then i'll know it was definently a female...how long until they lay the eggs?
