![]() | in theory.... (rosy barbs) |
devon7![]() Big Fish Posts: 475 Kudos: 356 Votes: 4 Registered: 31-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | well I dont have the money for a new tank right now as I am just getting my 29 gallon going... BUT! In theory, how large of a tank would one need in order to keep long finned rosy barbs? what is the minimum number for them to be happy? I dont know much about barbs at all. are rosy barbs like tiger barbs in that they are jerks to everyone unless there are a lot of them? or are they peaceful? could they potentially work in a trio? or do they need a school? any other relevant info is welcome ![]() |

Long-finned fishes and varieties of fishes (angelfish, bettas, long-finned blue danios) have a tendency of being rather nippy towards other species. Sometimes, the larger the school, the nicer they are, but this isn't a guarantee of any type and I would still be prepared for these to be the culprits if anyone in your tank ends up looking like he visited a cheap barber... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

I'd worry about a mixed M/F trio that one would end up getting picked on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I've had rosy's for as long as I've had tanks. Not nippy (in fact none of my barbs have ever been nippy...the tetras on the other hand ....). However....rosy barbs are very active. I would give them the space of a 3'(30 gallon, not 29 gallon) tank minimum if you're looking @getting them. Mine are currently in my indoor "pond" and really love the space (as well as stealing food from the goldfish). ^_^ ![]() ![]() |
