they seem to care more for the occasional zuccini i throw in for my otos than for their flakes, dried worms or anything else. i keep seeing them nibling on the veggies!
is that normal?

i might add that all my fish act strangely when it comes to diet, but no apparent trend is observed.

Practically all barbs are vegetarians.
The larger species clearly like lettuce and other veggy stuff (I feed mine lettuce, carrots, cucumber and peas).
The smaller species like veggie food as well, even though this is less obvious.

Thry feeding your cherries some crushed peas (they can't manage them whole )They'll love it!

They will eat anything, but have a strong preference for vegetables.
