i always though of harlequin rasboras as being just, you know, every fish is the same kind of schoolers as opposed to each having a personality. I've really kind of been proved wrong on this one! they have the tightest community in the tank! there is one big strong colorful one that sometimes shoves the others around, then there are some mid range ones who seems to defend themseleves fine and then there are the little ones that are a little paler and more passive. They really do have a tight community within their school. They also school tighter than any other schooling fish I have ever owned! here is a little question to throw in there, why do they nudge eachother around? the big one tends to butt into the others with his nose and push them around. any clues why? I dont see a lot of damage done but the more submissive ones seem kind of pale... i dont know whether its a male or female but whatever it is it has a slightey taller rounder body shape (like picture a fish whose been working out haha), maybe its just a dominant fish i suppose... but i dont know if its a territory thing, or just nit picking, or whatever!

...am i being redundant? i'm quite tired :%):%):%)

The pale color is usually from stress, I think the bigger one is beening too agressive causeing the others stress. What size is your tank? I would remove or seperate this one from the others and see if the color returns it the other fish. Stress can cause fish loss better to be safe than sorry.

they are in a 29 gallon... they were in a 10 gallon until a couple of days ago so maybe the bigger tank will make it easier on them, if so, how long should it take for their color to look better? I will keep an eye on them and see if being in the larger tank helps.

When i had them, it took a couple of day for some to get the color back, for others just hours. I hope the bigger tank will help out.

Good luck
