i bought 2 silver sharks today, but since i released them all they have done is sit at the bottom of the tank breathing quite heavily.... anyone know why this might be?.....
im quite concerned about them..

first off how big is your tank? those things get HUGE you need no less than a 75 for them... and a for breathing heavily you need to check your oxygen levels. had that problem and it stopped when i put in a power head...

they are in the process of morphing into living f-16s. by morning, they will have doubled in length, and their constant, fast, swimming behaviour will do wonders for their tankmates' egos. princess is right- those guys get huge (i have read they are tasty when they get larger).

if your tank is well oxygenated, did you acclimate them properly before releasing them into the tank? they may be just adapting to the new water conditions.

I have 2 silversharks, and when I first got them, they acted the same way. They just hid behind plants and stayed really close to each other. A few days later, they had relaxed and gotten more comfortable, and now (about 1 month later), they chase each other back and forth, and seem very happy.

oh ok could be normal then!... i have a 47 gallon,i know they'll outgrow it one day. theyre only about 2 inches at the moment. i thought maybe they were dieing or something!.
