I'm planning on purchasing six tiger barbs for a 20 gallon empty tank. This is kind of silly, but I think it would be neat to have one albino and five regular. My understanding is that the albino is just a variation of the tiger barb. So my question is, would the albino and the regular tiger barbs school together?

Peace.

It's iffy. I don't think they would. Because schooling is based on sight, having one of a different color that looks totally different than the others may lead to it being picked on, or just left out of the school.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

We keep our different varieties of tiger barbs (regular, albino, and green) together in the same tank at the LFS, and they seem to make no distinction between the different color varieties. They all shoal together as one large group.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Yes, you they will most likely school being that there wont be enough albino tiger barbs to have there own school. If this doesnt work you will want to take the albino back to the lfs and get another orange and black one. Good luck with your tigers.
