Candystripe, bumblebee, fan dancer, and violet gobies are common brackish water aquarium fishes. Neon, catalina, and clown gobies are common marine aquarium gobies. Many of the freshwater gobies aren't common in the aquarium trade, such as the desert goby of Australia (maybe you can find it in the Australian aquarium trade). Some gobies, such as the darter goby, are even commonly found in hypersaline conditions. Mudskippers are actually gobies as well. In my opinion, Gobiidae is one of the most interesting and diverse families of fishes out there. |
