charlie_tuna Hobbyist Posts: 119 Kudos: 160 Votes: 3 Registered: 04-May-2003 | how long can a violet goby live in a freshwater tank?, I know there not supposed to be in freshwater, and no this isn't my goby I'm referring to, just a friend has this situation. so what can I tell him? Can I tell him he's actually killing it or what? |

Hooben Big Fish Posts: 346 Kudos: 219 Registered: 27-Oct-2002 | I wouldn't be so tough on your friend. My violet goby is 14 inches long and 5 years old, in a fresh water 110 gallon tank. The fishes are very hardy and will get the pale appearance whether in brackish or fresh water. What usually will kill them is the lack of food on the substrate. They eat by filtering substrate through the mouth and out the gills. Any food on the substrate is then eaten. Good luck. ________________________________________ The calming qualities of a good aquarium are irrefutable |
