10 Gallon Fish Combos - opinions | |
FinFancier07 Fingerling Posts: 16 Kudos: 7 Registered: 07-Feb-2006 | Hi all, I wanted some opinions on some combinations for my new 10 gallon tank. What would be a good ballance of these types of fish? Cherry Barbs Female Betta Neon Tetras Small Corys Male Guppies Ottos ADFs Or other suggestions... I'm pretty set on having some tetras, the female bettas currently have a home (so they don't have to be included), but I would love to include them in the bigger tank if I could. The others I think would be a fun colorful option. Feel free to mix and match or exclude whatever. Let me know what you think would work best. |

I have had problums with keeping female bettas and male guppies together, because the bettas have a tendency to be aggressive twords fish with fancy, colorful fins. I also wouldnt recommend corys for a 10g, simply because they are schooling and active fish. But I think you could do one of the following: 6x Neon Tetras 3x Ottos or 3x Male Guppies 2x Cherry Barbs 3x Ottos or you could try a betta, a small school of tetra, and 2 ottos. Inky |

My tank is heavily planted and filtered with a 20g cascade filter. Water changes are only once per 10 days due to lack of any NitrAtes in the water because of the many plants. I really love the espei rasbora - they are so colourful, so active, and look great in a heavily planted tank with surface plants for subdued lighting. They only grow to about 1 inch, check them out online, they are great looking fish. Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |
