Most salt says 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. Thats easy enough but how often would i do that?

If you wanted to keep the same concentration of salt, just add it when you're adding water after a water change, but not for when you are just adding water to replace for evaporation.

Hi Garofoli,

And welcome to FP

Why exactly would you want to add to the tank in the first place? What fish are in the tank (or will be) ?

There are certain fish that like the addition of salt in general, like all brackish fish (most puffers, for example). But there are also fish that cannot stand any salt.

Dude, you are way overstocked in both tanks. No plecos belong in a 2g tank.

And in a 10g, you really shouldn't have more than about 4 mollies.

And if you are adding salt, I don't think plecos like salt.

You really need a bigger tank to house all those fish (from the 10g). Please think about that.
