Predators of what, may I ask? If you're asking for specifically fish eaters rather than fish that predate upon animals like worms, than two fish that come to mind are the African Butterflyfish and the South American Leaf fish.

If you are willing to try brackish, you could fit a "Butterfly Goby" in there. Not really a goby and also called the freshwater waspfish.

I thought the same until my friend had one in with a bunch of cherry barbs and within 3 days of the goby in there all 12 cherry barbs where gone. I seen him eat two.

ABF would eat fish yes, if they swim in the top area with it.
You could always go for the ABF and then some bottom fish. Perhaps some cories, or a catfish of some kind, maybe that violet goby you were talking about if it stays at the bottom.

Arrowhead puffer Highly predatory but not very active. They grow to 6" usually but possibly 7". One nice big cave for him to hide in, sand substrate and low lighting and you're all set. You must make sure the tank is cycled first though as puffers are very sensitive fish.
