The water amount sounds right, but not sure if your tank will be long enough, as for a corner tank, it sounds kinda short. IMO, the length of the tank should be at least 6 feet to house an arrowana.

I wouldnt add the arowana as they do get over 3feet and need some good rome to swim. The other fish you mentioned should do ok together. Interested in adding any polypterus??

If a 257 gal. tank was 2 feet deep it's footprint would be 17 square feet. If it was a triangle the 2 short sides would be almost 6 feet and the long side over 8 feet. If it was 3 feet deep it's footprint would be about 11 square feet, it's short sides would be 4.7 feet and the long side over 6 feet.

Hope this helps with the Arowana advice.

what about plants and diftwood. i had two peaces of diftwood in there but it got really bad b/c it was starting to grow things on it. i want to make the tank really nice looking but i am alittle worried that it might damage the fish.

What was growing on the driftwood, that you thought might hurt the fish?????? And you can add a/some plecos to the tank, as those fish will not bother them.
