I personally get about 54" and that could be wrong cause im not sure how big those cories get. You have to consider the full adult size of those fish and your not. Also inch per gallon only aplies to your smaller fish like the neons and danios. Even going by inch per gallon rule your tank is almost double the stock limit. Also your danios need to be in a school of at least 6. Id drop 2 of your schooling fish.

I'm not sure how big the bristlenose gets..
But your setup sounds fine to me..
One recommendation is to monitor your nitrates closely.
Do you have live plants in there ?

What do you think of my stocking list? Is the tank overstocked? Thanks

-8 Neon Tetra *or* Carndial Tetra
-6 Jullii Cory Catfish
-2 Pearl Gourami
-1 Bristlenose Catfish

Here's a rough estimate using the 1 inch rule:

(36 X 16)/12 = 48 inch total

neon = 8 X 1.2" = 9.6
cory = 6 X 1.6" = 9.6
Gourami = 2 X 4.7" = 9.4
Bristle = 1 X 4.7" = 4.7
___
33.3"

Sly, The employees at lfs most likely don't know, so here is some reading for you to do. Don't just leave it up to the lfs, if you do you probably end up with something you do not won't.

http://www.irananimals.com/fish-page/dwarf-gourami-fish.htm

I hope this helps you tell the difference from males and females Gouramis. Also go and sit in front of the lfs tank for awhile, and you will pick up the difference once they are in front of you. Happy Fishing.

I also agree 2 females to one male = thats if you have the room.

i would just like to point out.
dwarf gouramis should be one male to several female.
and also finding a female neon dwarf is extremely hard!
i couldn't get one anywhere in toronto!
but i found so so so many female honey gouramis. you could also consider them!
hope that helps.

Its hard to tell the difference in the sexes on the Glowlights and corys. Usually males are brighter and bigger, but that don't help when you come across a stunted one. With Glowlights and Corys it doesn't matter as long as they are in a shoal.
With Gouramis' either male & female or two females.
With Kribs either a male or female.

Speaking of gender, I"m not sure how to split up the difference for each fish specides. Can you tell mean how many males and females for each?

6 Glowlight Tetras - all males/females?
6 Jullii - all males/females?
2 Dwarf Gourami - etc.
1 Krib - etc.

Sly, sounds good. Here is a site on drawf gouramis.http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/gouramis/dwarf_gouramis.htm
The general rule, don't keep two males. Two females is not bad although you still have them chasing one another from time to time. Try and get them both at the same time, so they already be used to each other.

6 Jullii
2 Dwarf Gourami

My advise: Go with,
6 Glowlight Tetras. (hardy, fun fish)
6 Jullii Corys. (if you can get them)
2 Drawf Gouramis. ( not two males though, they will fight)
1 Bristlenose (keeping in mind these ae slow growers)
or 1 Krib
or 1 Bolivian ram ( blue rams are not as hardy, they don't like meds or water changes)
Just watch out for neons. As they can get NTD, as stated above.

I was thinking for the Tetras--Neons, Black Neons, or Cardinals.

As for adding anymore fish, wouldn't it overload my tank? Of course, if it doesn't thats good news

Do rams need to be in schools? Maybe 1 ram would be nice

Julli cory's get 3 inches long. Why did you decide to go with Neons Cardinals can be hardier and less suceptible to NTD than Neons I would get 2 Dwarf Gourami. Might be able to (if you want) get a pair of Blue or Bolivian Rams. But im pretty sure what you got right now is perfect
