At school we have a 29 gallon tank filled to the brim with swordtails and their fry. My friend and I take care of the tank, and i was wondering If I added and angel to that tank, how many swordtails could I leave in with them? So how many swordtails could I keep in a 29g with one angel? how about for 2 angels?

most obvious issue is the fry as large angels love to eat smaller fish in my experience.

You could have an angel or two in a 29 gallon, though they would eat the fry, Angelfish tend to eat anything and everything they can fit in their mouths. Also, they need to be able to swim relatively freely, so a super crowded tank of anything isn't a great idea. Is there anything you could do with the fry? Or are you willing to part with some of them as feeders?

well I was thinking of taking the fry down to the fish store or finding homes, what I really want to know is how many adult swordtails can be kept with either 1 or 2 angels?

i've kept 2 angels, in a 20, with about 5 other fish, not including the cories... so i'd say about 7 or 8 max, but if you really have to put more in there, you just have to do more frequent water changes. i managed to keep mine at ammonia 0, nitrate and nitrites both 0 (fake plants in that old tank) with about 25% water changes twice weekly, but if you cant commit to that only add in about 7 other fish max.
