I have a 29 gal and I need ideas of some nice new way to aim the tank. What do you think would be a nice setup for a 29 gallon?

What do you mean? Planted is nice, with a large community, but then again I would like myself to have a 29 gallon shellie tank.

Shellie? Thats an AWFUL lot of room for shellies.

If you're looking for ideas on how to stock it, you need to decide if it's going to be a community tank, semi agressive, agressive, cichlids, etc.

You're best bet is to go over to your LFS and tank browse. Right down the names of any fish that appeal to you. Come here and post them, and we can try to help you stock your tank according to whats available to you and what YOU like. Give us some ideas, it'd be easy for me to stock a 29 for you, but I don't think you'd like it.

you could put make it brackish and put a violet goby in there till it gets really big and bumblebees and some puffers might go well with those or you can have live bearers that dont get to big and schools of tetras

good luck with ur fish

If you want a freshwater community tank, try this stocking list on for size:

1 bristlenose catfish
9 tiger barbs
7 yoyo loaches
1 pearl gourami? (I'm not sure how well they get along with tiger barbs)

Anyways, just see what fish interest you, then report back here with ideas.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

i have a planted 29 with 9 tiger barbs, 2 banjo cats, 5 ottos, 1 paradise gourami, and a couple dwarf puffers. Not necessarily considered "community" but all these fish live together with little to no problems.

That would be nice, but I currently have a tank with 10 tiger barbs.
