I got a good deal on a 30g which is going to go in my bedroom. I have a bit of time to decide on stock, have to save $ for hood, light, etc.

So what to put in a 30g....I currently have:

75g Oscar and sev
30g gourami, rummynoses, kuhlis, clown plec
29g breeding cons
20g pearl gouramis, tetras, BN
10g QT
2.5g betta and dwarf rasboras

I tend to like larger fish....would a JD or salvini work in a 30g? I've had shellies, not really interested in other Tangs or Malawi.

Not really sure at this point, just trying to get some ideas...

I've never had jewels or yellow labs....any thoughts on which are easier to breed, and how many I'd start with either type?

Thanks again

My yellow labs breed like rabbits, or so it seems. Get a male and several females and you'll have more babies then you'll know what to do with. One of my females is always carrying eggs/young.

If you have more than 1 male in that size of a tank you'll have some aggression problems so try to stick with one male. Is this a 30 gallon long or standard tank. A long would be better for the labs.

I agree with OldTimer, Yellow labs are easy to breed. I agree with his stocking plan too. If your looking to breed them i would go with yellow labs.

How about an amazon biotope? A couple of angels, hatchetfish and some cory cats.
