I'd go with your second list but have either the gouramis or kribs and add either a few otos or a small plec.

well yeah, I didn't notice at first but you wrote bolivian ram. I would also go with the seconds choice and make it a female krib. =) Otos are a must have =P. I don't think you need to cut down on the cory to add a few otos.

If thats the case, wouldn't I have too many bottom feeders considering Otos need to be in a group?

Also, I have large rocks and a small drift wood plus some plants so I can't really add anymore.

I am leaning towards the 2nd list simply b/c there's more room and I might even remove the krib.

Thanks for the help so far

Otos are not really a bottom dweller as such as they love to cling onto things like the glass/plants/anything that they can suck on. So a little shoal say of 3-4 of these would be fine. The Krib would be fine. But a bristlenose or Otos would be better.

This is what everyone wants:

8 Cardinal
6 Leopard (Jullii)
2 Dwarf
4 Otos ]

But why does everyone think Otos are necessary other than they cuuute!

That list is fine. 6 Corys are fine too. I had a small shoal of corys and it didn't work out. But 6 up and they are happy little fellas. The Otos are great with algae. Interesting piece in the "Getting Started: forum,

Next, algae eaters. And the fish of choice here is Otocinclus. Ideally, buy these only when the aquarium has been running for a couple of months and algae is starting to make its presence felt, and acclimatise them carefully, as quite a few suffer rough handling at the wholesalers. Better still, put small rounded pebbles or bits of bogwood in jars on the windowsill and grow algae on them before buying Otocinclus (my infamous "Otocinclus Pet Rock" method of farming algae treats for them). If Otocinclus have algae to eat from day one, they'll settle in to a new aquarium much more easily.

I'd have a shoal of 6 danios instead of the dwarfs, and maybe some platys for a bit of colour!

remember to stock slowly though.

Your tank is fully stocked with just the teras and cories, that is, if you go by the tried-and-true surface area method. Well, you could have another cory, but that would be the max.
