suck at aquascaping(not done yet obviously) so I'd love any Ideas.

Current Stock:
1 DG
5 Serpea Tetras
6 corys
2 female platys

These are my stock plans:
1)
10 serpea tetras
6 corys
6 Zebra Danios
1 Dwarf Gourami
2 Blue Rams(pair)
3 Ottos

2)
9 serpea tetras
6 bronze corys
2 female platies
1 male platy(mabey)
1 DG
2 Rams
1 Keyhole
4 ottos

I really cant think of, I would like some more suggestions, i really can't think of anything else to put in there

Now unless I really can't find the keyhole I think I'm going to get just 1 would that be ok?

Thanks for all the help.

i think u need to have 6 ottos to have it look really good and u need to have fish that are small and like caves because it looks like u have a lot and the caves are smaller.

Item one: aquascaping.

Go looking for a piece of bogwood that is hollow, and contains LOTS of intricate hiding places. I have a piece like that in my Panda Fun Palace (I call it the bogwood 'boot' because that's it's shape - literally like an old boot!) and it has double decker caves in it that my Pandas have more or less taken over as their permanent hang-out.

Once you've found a nice intricate piece of bogwood and cured it for the aquarium, attach some Java Moss to it. The end result will be a piece of furnishing that will perform several jobs - [1] hiding the technology from immediate view, so as to help create that 'piece of river in the living room' look, [2] providing your Corys (and any Otocinclus you get) with hiding places, and [3] in combination with the Java Moss, it'll help create that 'underwater rainforest' look.

Here is a shot of my Panda Fun Palace (The bogwood 'boot' is the feature on the left hand side of the aquarium that's covered in a tangle of greenery, and because of this you can't see it's shape!)

If you get something that looks like a piece of fallen branch as another decoration (which you can also attach Java Moss to for that 'underwater jungle' effect once it's growing nicely) then make sure you get one that isn't too thick in girth - if you can get one that has several thin branches emanating from a central point, this will also go a long way toward giving you furnishing options, particularly if you attach Java Moss to it.

If you can put in some Hornwort as a floating plant to provide some shaded areas in one part of the tank, then this will also be appreciated by several of your current inmates, as well as quite a few potential future ones. Again, see my photo for the explosion of green that's in there!

Item two: increasing the stock.

I'd run with more Serpaes, but if you do, be careful what else you put in there with them. Don't put your Bettas in there or they'll be shredded in no time!

If you're not overly fussed about mixing fishes from different continents, here's a selection you could go with:

[1] Increase the Serpae shoal to 10 individuals
[2] Increase your Cory count to 8
[3] Add 6 Otocinclus
[4] Pop in a pair of Anomalochromis thomasi Cichlids.

The reason I suggest those Cichlids instead of Rams are [1] they don't need higher temperatures, they'll live happily at 74 degrees Fahrenheit, and will breed at 80 [2] they're among the most peaceful Cichlids you'll ever encounter [3] in breeding colours they're gorgeous [4] even in non breeding plumage they're lovely little fishes [5] they max out at 3 inches and won't put massive demands on your aquarium space [6] they adapt to a wide range of aquarium conditions and are pretty hardy. Why this species isn't FAR more widely available, given its HUGE list of virtues and virtual absence of faults is a mystery to me, especially when you consider that all too many dealers stock bad tempered Convicts and Dempseys that are totally unsuitable for the kind of aquarium you've constructed (and all too often sell them to the wrong people to boot).

Thanks Alot, for the help, I was really thinking about the fallen branch, Ill be looking out for them, as for the stock, I rather stick with the rams because I've wanted them for so long, unless theres a really good reason why I shouldint get them, I was also thinking about adding(i have 2F platys) 1m and 1 female platy, I have homes for the babies who survive.

About the floating plants I think I will wait for my canadina weed to grow till it covers the top of the water because I dont like it acctually floating around, Thankyou verymuch

P.S. what about the caves?

Adn my peice is not hollow.

P.S.S. What about getting some male phantoms, just wondering...
