Well if you want a community and it was my tank i guess i would go with: 10 neons, 6 black skirts, 2 rams, 6-8 cories, 4-5 ottos, and maybe some gouramis.

My thoughts:
1 bristlenose
10 lemon tetras
10 cories (whatever kind you want)
6 gold barbs
2 keyhole cichlids

A nice little community tank.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Well, seeings I know of your previous interests in the fish world, may I suggest to you the following!
6-8 Corydoras yourchoiceas (i like aggassizi, trilineatus, pandas, bandits, daintys, salt n peppers, peppered, and aenus bronze n albino all very nice)
6 Cory or perhaps a smaller loach like dario, yoyo, or polka dot, or a nice 6-8 inch size pleco like an inspector, gold nugget, zebra, king tiger etc.
1 Gold Gourami or Blue Gourami or Opaline Gourami
4 Pearl Gourami (1 male 3 females)
10 Cardinal Tetras
10 Tetra of your choice
2 Bolivian Rams
2 Blue German Rams
Lots of live plants and a bubbler and voila! Magni-fique!
I think that would be a good start to hold you in good stead!
Then, if you havent got the other tank fully stocked already, you may choose to change your tank plans and go with more of a "little fish" tank, or "tetra only" or guppies or something of the like!

Really depends on what you like.

African Cichlids - 12 Pseudotropheus Saulosi and 5 Synodontis Petricola.

South America - 2 Blue Rams, 8 Cories of choice, 10 Cardinal tetras, 4 otos, and 2 Angelfish.

Central America - 2 Honduran Red Points (convicts), 4 otos, and leave room for LOTS of babies.

Asian - 4 or more Kuhli loaches, 14 Harlequin Rasboras, 4 Gouramis of choice.

Just a few ideas.

BTW, that sounds like a ton of fish to me as most gourami's reach around 5", don't they? By my rough calculations, that's 91" of fish. I know you don't do the 1" gallon rule except for fish 2" or under, so that makes the difference even larger. IMO, the stocking plan w/ the cories, gourami, tetras, and rams would be greatly overstocking a tank even if it does have like plants.

I don't really want to have gouramis or rams since I have a tank already with them. Any other ideas? I like the tank otherwise.

Ok. You could get some rummies and some other tetras. Like the jewel tetra or the phantome tetra
