how this for a 55g community

2 angelfish(10 years of fish keeping and never had any)
6 black widow tetras
6 red-eye tetras
5 yoyo loaches(a must)

substrate- black sand
filter- emperor 400
heater- 300 wt

Sounds good. Maybe cut down on one loach as they can get four inches long. Another idea is to have one larger school of tetras, for instance, 10 black widows or 10 red-eyes. I'm just throwing out ideas. Honestly though, sounds like a good plan.

JW... Isnt 400 gallons per hour a little powerful for a 55 gallon tank... my Fluval 304 does 260 gph and is good for up to 70 gallons.

I have heard that red-eyes are the worst tetra as far as fin nipping goes... Other than that, sounds good. I agree with Soluble, take out a loach and add to the Black Widow school. Another good fish instead of red-eyes, is the Lemon Tetra. They seem like a good fish, and they also have the red above their eyes.
