It has a bit of an algea problem so i want to do 20% water changes once a week and also add an algea eating fish. It has: 2 Hachet fish 2 Neon tetras What other things could i do to get rid of algea and what kind of algea fish could i add? Thanks 55gal Tank:130 watt coral lights,Eheim Wet/Dry 2227 Canister Filter,Powerhead, Co2 Injection and a heater. |

Neither is small enough for that sized tank unfortunately. Again because it's a small tank, the only algae-eater than would think appropriate would be some type of snail. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Even a snail at this point would be bad. Another option however is getting rid of the fish you have now and getting a few female bettas and a snail ^_^ Inky |

Neons and hatchets need a school, and you can't fit a school of either in a 5g. And like stated before, the only algae eater suited for a 5g is a snail. |

I would take the Hatchets back & get more Neons. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
