i went to a pet shop on sunday that i normally only buy supplies from, rarely livestock. you know the sort, they have three tropical tanks with the odds and ends of the fish world in there - but every now and again i find the best stuff in there, really cheap! so as i was walking to the shop i said "if i find young german rams, under $7 (which is bloody cheap in sydney!) i'll buy them!"

walked in, checked out the tanks, just guppies, mollies, etc - then looked in the bottom tank which was full of barbs, and saw some small stuff moving around the driftwood - YOUNG RAMS!! price? 6.99!! bought the four they had and took them home with a big smile on my face.

pretty happy with them - they've paired up already and are now in their tanks inspecting rocks.

I love those days!!!

I had the same experience with Ps. Demasoni. All the specialty fish stores - where the experts work - sold Demasoni for minimum $14/fish.

At this tiny little LFS, they were 3 for $26.99 - all great specimens.

Grabbed 7 and loved 'em.

I always drop in to take a look-see - never know what you'll find!

72G Bowfront. 1 Sunshine Peacock, 2 Yellow Labs, 1 Ps. Elongatus, 1 Blue Ahli, 1 Red Kadanga, 1 Mel. Exasperatus, 1 metriaclima emmiltos, 1 Ancistrus.

14.5G 4 Neon Tetras.

one pair are in the 6 foot community tank, one pair in a 2 foot with a pair of cacs. all doing nicely - only about 2 centimetres long, but already very pretty little fish.
