Hello all

So, the fish from the 10g have finally been moved to the 20g.

It will be heavily planted, and has a RenaFilstar XP3 filter running on it.

There are eight neons and two corydoras. I hope to get another half dozen neons and four corys to make up the numbers, but what else can I add?

Would you get perhaps a pair of rams, or even a single ram? How about four or five pearl danios? (Are they fin nippers?) Any other suggestions? Nothing too rare, nothing too expensive. Anything colourful, small and active? Singles or groups? I did like the look of a red crab but was told they would probably stealthily devour the neons at night.

Ideas much appreciated!

I personally wouldn't add anything else to that tank. 14 neons and 6 cories in a 20 gallon sounds a little overstocked just be themselves. Even if the tank is heavily planted, a 20 gallon isn't a large enough tank for that many fish. But, that's just my opinion.

Yeah, you're kinda pushing it there. Neons don't add too much to the bioload, and just six cories, that's right about at the limit.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

WHOA!!! a rena filstar xP3 on a 20 gallon? How does that not blow your fish around like crazy???? I have one running on my 48 gallon long goldie tank (beautiful filter by the way, I would recommend it to anyone!) and even using the spray bar, if the filter output is not turned down I have a fishy tornado They are rated for tanks up to 175 gallons Kinda off topic, sorry about that! But I am very curious!

well, the tank was for tanganyikans, hence the massive filter to tank size.. and to be honest i thought the same, but everyone is fine - the corys seem to enjoy the current and even the wafer-thin neons aren't being swooshed round the tank!!
