I have 3 African Dwarf Frogs. Just now I noticed 2 of them fighting? I am not sure. It looks like one frog is biting the other frog, and it is jumping around like crazy. I'm not sure which is doing most of the jumping. The one being bitten isn't doing much to get free. So I took my net and poke them a bit. That one frog didn't want to let go at first, but when I poked him again, it let go, and both frogs went away from each other.

I hope that makes sense.

What are they doing? I've never seen this behavior before. What should I do?

I would just watch from a far for a few minutes. If one of them really is bullying the other (I've heard storise of them accidently latching onto a tank mate's limbs whilst feeding), then you might need to separate. I'm not much help with amphibians, but there's my two cents.

Keep watching them and if it keeps up you may have to separate them.

ADF's are known to be pretty calm and non agressive. What size tank are these guys in? Maybe they're feeling a little cramped or stressed, have you changed anything? If the problem keeps up the only thing you can do is seperate them, or bring the agressive guy back. HTH

So far, I got them separated with the net. They are in a 40 gallon tank. After two days I haven't seen it happne yet. So it was probably an accident or something.

Thanks for the replies.

During feeding time, I've seen my frogs do the same thing. When they smell food near them, they usually just snap around until they find the food. When all the frogs are around that one area where the food is, things happen. Even after a frog is bite, I've never noticed anything physically wrong. So I wouldn't worry about it.

it might be different with the african dwarfs but i know certain frogs have horrible eyesite and if they sense something moving in front of them they will try to use its hands to push it in their mouths.
