Hi, I just put in 3 African Dwarf Frogs with my 11 Neon Tetras and 8 Guppies. The ADF don't seem to do much. They are sitting there and while the fishes come by they stay still. One of my Neons thought it was food and it picked on it. The frog yanked his foot away and stayed there.

I am wondering is that normal behavior? is it because they are frightened and that is why they don't want to do anything?

At the store they looked active and healthy.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I did. I left the bag on top of the water for half an hour before I let them in.

acclimation usually consists of letting the bag sit on the water, while at the same time introducing some of the water from your tank into the bag. This serves to get the life form contained inside used to the pH and mineral content of the water. You add a few ounces of water from the tank to the bag every 5-10 minutes or so for 1-2 hours, and i usually recommend turning the light off.

The fish should be netted or at least the majority of the water poured out into a seperate container for disposal before introducing it into the main tank.

Thanks for the great advice Fallout I'll be sure to do that next time I introduce new fish. Well so far a few hours have passed and the ADF are doing alot better. I see them going to the surface for air and moving frequently now.

So I was scaring myself for nothing. Heh.

Thanks all.
