It is almost certain the loaches will make a meal out of the shrimp. Even small Botiids should not be trusted with Amano Shrimp.

Adult clown loach and amano shrimp = expensive treat. You might get away with it with juvenile loaches under 4 inches and adult amanos at 2 inches for a few months , after that, the shrimp are toast, or perhaps more accurately prawn toasts

Theyll be taken when the amanos are caught molting, theyll be soft and delicious!

Were sure.

I have two clown loachs in a 55 with ghost shrimp I havn't loss any shrimp yet and they have been in there for 5 months now and are getting about and inch long the shrimp that is. I guess maybe its because they are heavily planted or I'm just luck because it the same tank with the pea puffers and they are suppose to eat shrimp as will.

Like I said they get taken when molting, if they can find a place the clowns cant access to do that, then you might be lucky, but sooner or later the numbers thin out until you have none left. Amanos are tenacious, and cautious, but they get nailed in the end.

Yep definitely the CL will eat any shrimp you send its way.
As adults they are even capable of eating larger crayfish.

I haven't had any trouble with smaller loaches(yoyos, kuhlis, dojos) and shrimp but CLs get rather large. Temporarily it might work but they'd eventually start picking them off. Pretty much any fish that gets as big as clowns is guranteed to eat shrimp since they are such a nice size for a live meal.

Thanks alot for the reply's. The CL is only 5cm big, but i'll remove it as soon as i can, or else move the AS to another tank.

Not that its the same thing but I have some yoyo loaches with amano shrimp and they dont express any interest in the shrimp. I know theyre not clowns, but they are yoyos.
