Hello, my friend is setting up his 20G(cycling)
He wants to know if he can put 2-3 angles in there its not a 20high.
This is his stocking idea:

- 7-8 Bleeding Heart Tetras
- 3 Angel Fish
- 1 Dwarf Gourami

Also, one of my firends say that if u put a big fish in a small tank it will stunt its growth and he says its ok.

Of course i would never do it because the fish is suffering, but can you tall me some of the side effects of doing this so i can show him its not good for the fish?
Thanks Alot.

If a fish is stunted it will die an early death. So tell him its not a good thing. When a fish is stunted, their outsides stop growing, but their insides (organs) don't. So they eventually die, before they really should.

I say no to angels in a 20 long. They need atleast an 18 inch high tank because they can get about 6-7 inches tall. One angel would be cramped when its gets full grown in a 20 long. I think an angel would be cramped in a 20 high.

For me, the minimum tank size for one angel is a 30g tall tank. For two I would say a 50g or larger. 3 angels would surely be stunted in a 20g long tank.

Tell him to have the tetras and dwarf gourami and save the angels until he can provide them with an appropriate size tank...like a 55g for 3 angels.

Thanks, any ideas, I told him a pair of Blue Rams might be able to go in there or shellies.
