redthanatos Fingerling Posts: 23 Kudos: 20 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-Jul-2006 | so i've bred my mollies.. and one of the babies has grown big enough to be in the big tank (still a little smaller than a neon)... so hes in there for the last few days... but he keeps pecking at a gourami who is also young but a lot bigger than he is... the gourami just seeems to try to get away and hide.. but the fast little molly keeps on the chase and keeps attacking him... the molly seems healthy otherwise just bothered ... i have the baby in a small net now in the tank and want to know what to do? should i throw in some more molly babies or should i put him back in the kids tank (where he kept pecking the father) is he just evil? let me know thanks Sean |

Two Tanks Big Fish Posts: 449 Kudos: 328 Votes: 13 Registered: 02-Jun-2003 | Chances are that he is just curious about his suroundings, but mollys are schooling fish and need to be in groups of at least three. I think that is more likely the problem - when you can add some more mollys to the tank, the situation should resolve itself. You might want to keep him in a breeder net for a while if he is presenting a problem right now. Don't add any more baby mollys until they are big enough to fend for themselves. |
