Cichlid Keeper Big Fish Posts: 368 Kudos: 466 Votes: 304 Registered: 17-Aug-2003	Well my wife came home this evening with 4 Australian rainbows and I was wondering if anyone possibly knew how to sex them?

Look at the top 2 fins, if the front fin overlaps the back dorsal, it is a male. If there is a definite gap between these fins, it is female. In this pic in the link, the female is on the right hand side. Note how the fins on top do not overlap.
