fishyhelper288![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | i wasnt even trying, i woke up this morn and little red was performing for her, dancing, flairing trying to wrap around her, u know, well i fed them, thinking oh great what does he think hes gunna do to her this time? well after they ate thay wraped, orgasmed, and a few tiny eggs floated away, best of all not one fish came near them, they stayed out of the foliage, im at school and cant wait till i get home, it seems EVERY time i look into that 10 gallon, they suprise me with either babys, or something new, like my darter did a tail stand for me, i have gotten 2 batches of babys out of there, which by the way i dont have to remove them any more, the babys swim and eat like adults, not a one adult chases or tryes to eat them, but i took 5 out and left 1 in that was 3 days ago, thats why i love fish sooo much, its like at night they sit, or well float around in a circle and talk about what they can suprise me with next, before i would just go down, feed them and that was it, now i look bafore i leave i am soo happy, i have tryed like 3-4 times to breed my bettas, one time they did but i dident know it so i moved the nest and male betta back to a vase, i was furriouse sp? at him, he riped up her perfect fins realy bad, but this time, no damage, aand she is nearly fully healed from the first breeding.Now for the question, what do i do? they have eggs in the nest, the other fish are staying away, but what happens when they hatch? that tank is full over than usual (explosion of babys lately) and a few plattys are almost ready to be moved into the 10, they are getting a bigger tank asap and my parents are actualy getting it for me ![]() the tank has a sandy bottom, and i had spanish moss in under the leafe he made the nest under, so i moved it (they were having trouble finding them, but should i put it back after they hatch?i think they wanted it there, but i dont know what to do i have mixed emotions, 1) im excited they finaly did it2) im mad because they did it NOW 3) im happy for them and 4) im worried so can u offer me some advice? pretty please ![]() |
fishyhelper288![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | im home now and from what i can se there are ALOT of eggs, she is still pretty big though, if anything goes under or near the leaf, he is there, garding wih his life, but he is not being aggressive, u see he is already the dominate fish in the tank, he just has to come near and they all scatter out of his way, and the little fry is still there, sh he hasnt shown that much aggression to him atleast. However, after spawning, you should always take the female out ASAP... the male will Kill her defending his eggs ! Once the fry start swimming around on their own, take daddy out too Isn't it interesting how these things just happen? ![]() |

i am soo happy, i have tryed like 3-4 times to breed my bettas, one time they did but i dident know it
