It sounds like your fish probably had something wrong with them (I am assuming that your tank is cycled and established)....bichirs are hardy, and it takes a lot for them to kick-off. |

I'am a bichir fan myself cuz they're different and sometimes quite active. But sorry to hear about your loss. I hope ya get some replacements for your tank. |

Bichirs are very hardy, but the one I have sometimes gets bullied. When fish are bullied, they are more susceptible to disease. If they got internal parasites, there may be no external signs of illness, and they seem to die off for "no reason". Were they eating normally before the death? Were they "sulking", or were they swimming normally? Also, check your water parameters. Hope this helps! ![]() |

NvForGet![]() Fingerling Posts: 48 Kudos: 35 Votes: 3 Registered: 27-Aug-2004 ![]() | i had one of my senegal bichir gone too, about a month ago, I SUSPECT it chork to his dead, unable to eat a large mealworm (i have pellet prepare in the tank too)which i intend to give for my ornate and other larger bichirs. i notice most of the bichirs will get bully alittle every now n than, but nobody ever try to mess with my ornate, don't know the reason y but he look just as big n peaceful as the other bichir too. Getting worry about my albino bichir, as i notice he grown slower than the others even though his diet is normal(he eat alot like a bichir ] ) |
