I love cichlids, but don't they have different pH requirements than a senegal? Unless they're not African... I've always wanted frontosas or whatever, they're so cool... but BIG...  Discus are really pretty, but mad expensive. Right now, my bichir squabbles with the plec, so I don't think he'd do too well with a knife-- aren't they bottom dwellers too? :| Hmmm... So many options... |

| Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001  | if you can shoot for a 75 gallon tank you'll have a lot more options.  any medium to large sized semi-aggressive cichlids should be fine with your bichir. however, most cichlids will either eat or uproot plants so that may not be the best option for you. if you'd like a few cichlids to consider though, let me know and I'll make some recommendations for you. |
