I got 2 trios of wild caught Blue Finned killies a month ago, and have had them in QT ever since. Since they were wild caught- I didnt do a typical Bare bones set up- added a VERY thin layer of extra gravel, lots of fake plastic plants, lots of duck weed and java moss and hornwort to make them feel more secure...extra stuff that if it did get infected- I wouldnt mind tossing out or sterilizing.

Well they are fine, no issues. Got them eating frozen vs live foods. They are young adults, barely sexable when I got them, and in the last month have blossomed into their colors.

They are FANTASTIC schoolers- better than Harlie rasboras...and i never thought Id say that!!!

But since wild caught- are EXREMELY skittish when i get close to their tank!!! Which of course is normal....

What I'm wanting to do, Is get them in their new home soon- either a 20 gal bow front..or 20 L.. and outfit it as naturally as possible- lots of plants, driftwood, various rocks and pebbles, sandy and clay substrate... make it as naural looking as possible.

I was wondering if adding another small native, that ISNT skittish- my lesser killie fish- would help them not be SOOOO skittish and be more secure???? these lil ones are VERY friendly, beg like guppies or angels when ever they see me coming and will eat ANYTHING i throw in there...
Not worried if the blue finns eat the lesser killies fry- as I have plenty...

Any ideas on the proposed set up??
