I saw a nice looking 92 gallon tank that was Bowfront, and a corner tank.

Anyways If i were to buy it, could i put more bottom feeders in it then I could a regular 90 gallon? I was thinking having a big school of clown loaches. Which one could I fit more in?

Clown Loaches grow to 1' a piece. A 92GAL tank might be too small for a school of them.

If you want a school of Loaches, I'd suggest the smaller species (YoYo, Zebra, Sid, Kuhli, Weather, Dojo) in your tank. Just remember, Shrimp, Snails and fry are favs in the Loach eating department.

To be honest, while clown loaches do get to a foot in the wild, aquarium specimens don't get quite that large. You could probably fit more of the clowns in the 92 gallon, because there are two more gallons to spare. I would go for a school of six clown loaches, and add other fish that I liked.

a 92 gallon corner tank has 907 square inches of surface area/floor space, whereas a standard 90 gallon has 864 square inches of surface area/floor space.

So technically, yes you can put more bottom feeders in the 92 due to there being more surface area for gas exchange and more real estate for more territories and the physical placement of the fish themselves. Granted, it's not a big difference, maybe a few cories.

I also agree it would take a while for a clown loach to reac 12 inches in a home aquarium, if you had the space.

thanks.

I see that they have almost the same surface area... which is good, and it takes up less space.
