Big Als does ship to Canada. In terms of price, I don't know how it compares with other sites. I'm not one of those people who buys many things online, so I'm sure there are tons of other sites.

Hi guys,

on the topic of buying online... how long does it normally take to receive goods from equarium? I ordered on the 20th of feb, and the items havent been shipped yet.... Is this abnormal?

vtechnician: I am not sure about that place, as I've never ordered from there, but usually it depends on the place. Most places I order from online ship out within 48 hours of making the order, or sometimes its longer if its over a weekend. I would call the company about your order. Maybe something was out of stock and they are waiting for it. I know once I ordered from Big Al's and a couple items were out of stock and it took a few days longer for them to ship my order.

Give the people a call and see what's up.

xlinkinparkx: IMO Big Al's has great prices. I live in the US, but the prices should be just as good for Canadian customers. They have the best prices compared to a couple other websites. I order most all my food, filters, media, and plant ferts from Big Al's.

Actually, if you compare the American site with the Canadian site for Big Als, the Canadian site is 175%, sometimes nearly double the price of the American. Don't know why, they have Canadian warehouses. I never buy online from them, since there are two of their warehouses about 30 minute drive from where I live.

Example:
Marineland Emperor Bio-Wheel 400 Power Filter
USD: 37.99
Canadian: 79.99
USD 37.99 --> Canadian Dollars: $44.08
I wouldn't buy from BigAl's personally. I'm surrounded by fish stores though, so getting livestock and equipment for my tanks are easy.

Big Al's is actually a Canadian company that has just recently started to tap into the US market. Perhaps they are trying to attract lots of customers with low prices temporarily.

Or maybe since they are Canadian they just don't know how much things cost down here...

I've bought books from them, and I was happy with my experience. Not only were the books cheaper than anywhere else I had seen, but the shipping was free too.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Well, it's been 3 years since I found their site and their US and Canadian prices have always been a huge difference, American cheaper. Also, Canadian dollar has been rising, and the prices between the two sites still haven't changed. Disappointing kind of. Like I said before, I live beside 2 Big Al warehouses in British Columbia, Canada, and the prices from the actual store has good prices, much cheaper than the online price.

I ordered my canister filter from Big Als online. The LFS around here wanted about $180.00, I got it from Als for $95.00. I got it in 6 days and will probably order some more stuff later. I'm happy with it.

bigalsonline is a good site. i use them alot for my fishes foods. but ebay is another great site. i've had tons of luck buying my equipment off there. got all 3 of my canister filters, 3 of my otb filters, 5 heaters, and 2 32in moon light kits, and all of them was brand new.

heres some examples, i just got a Penn-Plex Cascade 700 canister brand new, $45 total shipping, and this goes for $90-120 in stores and bigals has it for $65 with shipping. also got a jebo CFS4, goes upwards of 150 in stores, picked it up for only $55. both was brand new, sealed with all the media. Also, picked up a Dolphin 5star air pump for only $15, seen this for like $70 in stores.

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction
