I dont have room for any more fish so i cant get any loaches. Im going to post on apple snail website and see if i et any answers from them. |

I had a full Infestation and i found the only certain way to remove them was to buy a few clown loaches (as clown loaches eat the snails) and to do a complete clean out of the tank, all the equipment and the gravel. You may need to do more than one clean out because if you just happen to leave a dozen or so in the tank it can start all over again. |

Is there anything flat you can slide down the glass to scrape them off? |

They are flat white snails and reproduce fast like the common pond snail but generally don't cause any problems other than having white dots everywhere. They are sensitive to food availibility and won't increase in population if you don't overfeed too much. |

They are clear but have 1 or 2 dark patches in them. i have taken them out and they are hard on top. they crush easily. Could they be a uncommon snail or something completely different? Sane Red Fox![]() Small Fry Posts: 3 Kudos: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 10-Aug-2004 ![]() | I'd watch out if I were you, snails are dangerous as far as infestations go. you may want to sit down for a couple hours and pick through them, and crush a few, because I'm going to guarantee there's about 20 more you can't see. |

sly![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 377 Kudos: 251 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2004 ![]() | You could be looking at an infestation if you don't find a way to kill the snails. They reproduce exponentially. Ex: Day1 = 10snails Day2 = 100 Day3 = 300, etc. Or at least from what I've read about hitch-hiking snails from plants. ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by sly 2004-08-10 09:28][/span] |
