I have finally made up my mind on what fish to add in my 32 gallon. I already have 6 black neons, 6 danios, and 6 blue cories. I want to add 1 or 2 gouramis (not sure which kind yet). Does this sound reasonable?

Sounds like a very nice tank

Any particular gourami you have in mind?

That sounds perfectly reasonable to me. In fact, you could probably add a smaller pleco to that tank, even with the gourami(s).
Dwarf gouramis would be great, I personally like the honey gouramis. They are peaceful, and add a nice touch.

it's a good combination. just give the gouramis someplace to hide in (preferablly plants). they might be startled by the over-speeding danios until they get used to them.
also, i think keeping at least a patch of shaded barren gravel makes them more relaxed. mine always loved to sleep on the ground, their quasi-tentacles spread on the gravel.

Well the lfs I buy all my fish at have dwarf gouramies, royal blue gouramies, pearl gouramies, honey gouramies, chocolate and probably more that I forgot. I think the dwarf gouramies or the pearls would be nice.

What do you mean by blue cories? Are they dyed albino cories? If so, then i don't recommend you buying them. You can tell if they are dyed if their color jsut doesn't seem right, and ussualy you'll find the same kind of cories but red

He already has these cories. They are not dyed fish, they are actually corydoras nattereri. Here is a link with some information on this fish, just to prove that they exist: [link=http://www.scotcat.com/callichthyidae/nattereri.htm]http://www.scotcat.com/callichthyidae/nattereri.htm" style="COLOR: #808080[/link]

Eric, I would go with dwarf gouramis, strictly because they are smaller. I like to keep my tank understocked, just in case.

Well the dwarf gouramies were the ones that caught my attention, so I think i will go with those. As for the cories, mine aren't exactly blue in colour despite the name. They are more brownish.

4 gouramies, 8 black neons, 8 danios, 8 cories? Isn't that cutting it close to being overstocked?

Would adding the 2 gouramies and a school of cardinals be overstocked to?
