They seem to leave alone giant apple snails. That's it! Anything else will be considered pufferfood.

lol some species of congo puffers are sometimes called "swimming turds" because they are so ugly. Thats probably not what you have though. You probably have the spotted looking one. nice name by the way.

What makes you say that? The brown morph Congo puffer (T muirus) doeslook like a floating turd. The spotted Congo puffer (T schoutedeni) hasn't been available in the aquarium trade in over 20 years. My T muirus is actually a beautiful red morph.

Not a one. It only took about 2 weeks to get it to eat dead foods. She's grown 3x her origional 1" size. (There's really no way to tell their sex, it's just I have so many I call "he" already.) Are you having problems w/yours?

Sorry Pufferpunk, I lied. I don't actually have it yet. I'm getting the tank ready as i type so i hope to have her (I'll just call it a her) in a week. I'm just so Excited about getting her that i am imagining that i already have her.

Make sure you cycle the tank before you get the puffer. Do you know how to do that?
