These fish shouldn't be year round pond occupants. They are a tropical fish. Depending on where you live you may be able to place them in a pond during the summer months.

20 Gallon Long:
Aquaclear 300
2 Bolivian Rams, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus: Gumby and Pokey

If you're in Florida, keeping danios in a pond for extended periods of time is perfectly possible, though even in Florida they might not like being in there year round. While Florida is a nice, subtropical sunny state with sweltering summertime temperatures, it has been known for winter to hit hard even that far south. Wind the clock back to 1976 through early 1977, and Florida was hit by the legendary bad winter that saw a foot of snow on the ground and daytime temperatures at least ten degrees below freezing. TFH magazine back then reported that quite a few Florida pet fish farms were almost wiped out because their stock was in outdoor ponds - and as for the situation further north, well, if I recall correctly from the news bulletins of the time, New York was colder than Siberia. While extremes of weather of this kind are fortunately rare, it's worth bearing in mind when you consider the possibility of tropical fishes in outdoor ponds.

Ask around and see if anyone on this Board remembers December 1976 and January 1977 - and take a look at this photo of the subway trains in New Jersey in December 1976 when the temperatures there were falling to around 40 below ...

However, if you want to give your fishes a vacation in the summertime, and the long range forecast is for a nice, hot summer, then popping them in a pond will be educational. First, they'll grow like mad in a pond, and you'll end up with the biggest danios you've ever seen! Second, you could find yourself retrieving more danios than you put in as they spawn in the pond!
