The accused started to appear about a month or so ago, maybe around the time that the tank completed cycling. None of the fish have taken to it. If it is BBA, then I've read that it's very stubborn, and even SAEs may be picky about eating it. Other possible therapies include: 1) Adding nitrates and removing phosphates - apparently, BBA thrives in low nitrate conditions, and utilises phosphate. 2) Hydrogen peroxide baths - I have read about adding H2O2 directly to the tank, which I don't like the idea of. This seems to be very successful from the little I've read. I'm a science teacher, so I have access to peroxide, but what concentration v/v should I use? 3) High temperatures - obviously this will only work on certain things like the driftwood. I'm partial to trying no. 2, as I don't want to add any more fish to the tank, or just add fish to do one particular job. Should I try or consider anything else? Lighting cycles? Discard my plants? Throw away my bogwood (my new kribs would just hate that!) Yours in eager anticipation... C Cynicist attached this image: [img]http://www.fishprofiles.net/attachments/388481.jpg"] |
