I been putting a bubble wand in my tank for quite some time now, and i was planning to take it out because I just made a DIY CO2(very easy to make, but very hard to understand DIY)and don't wan't the bubble to make alot of current. Would this harm my fish in anyway?

p.s. I'm still new in this CO2 thingy, is CO2 gonna kill my fish?

yr question needs a two part answer...

do you need an airstone? this depends on how many live plants are in the tank, and how many fish. if it's few fish and lotsa plants, there's no probs with no airstone, as the natural CO2 / 02 cycle should be sufficient. try it for a few days - if the fish are gasping at the surface, u know u need it going.

will CO2 kill yr fish? let's hope not - mine would all be dead now if that was the case! co2 just helps the plants along, has various chemical reactions which should be monitored as per usual (ph tests etc), and you shouldn't have any real issues. co2 attaches itself to 02, so don't have yr airstone and yr co2 outlet close to each other.

if you started co2 then check your PH in the mourning and just before lights out. since co2 can effect ph. also how big is our aquarium how many watts what kind of lighting and what kind of plants can make a big diffrence. if your lights are not really strong to begin with then extra co2 may not be needed. if you want you can put your airstone on a timer to turn on at night. since plants use oxygen just as much as fish do at night.

I dont think people would be telling you to make C02 stuff that will kill your fish.

ANd no, taking the airpump out wolnt harm your fish.. unless you have no filter.
