All femal livebearers? What species are they? I'd like to research those- they sound fascinating.

Yeah... They do it because their smarter then us... They do it because they have to, to make more fish... We need all kinds of rules and dating to get it done... And on top of that we always need to get something out of it... Which in it's self is modified instinct tricking us into procreating the species... We are slaves to instinct as well... The only difference is we don't think we are... The selfishness of man will always keep the population up.

They need to do it to reproduce, just as humans do, but it's purely instictive, bulit-in behavior to them. Just another thing that needs to be done, like eating and avoiding predators.

Technically the fish that lay eggs and fertilize externally do not have sex.

and I agree, what a dirty mind...

Unless there is some oddball fish that somehow reproduces without breeding

There is a unisex (all-female) species of livebearer, but even they have to "pretend" to mate in order to trigger the development of the embryos.

They mate, some internally, but they don't recieve any pleasure from this and it is purely instinctive.

What a dirty little mind you have...

Yes they do, they would be extinct if they didn't.
